Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance Law and Legal Definition
Reemployment Trade Adjustment Assistance (RTAA) is a program that went into effect for workers' petitions on or After May 18th, 2009. To be eligible for this Department of Labor program, workers must meet the following eligibility requirements:
a. must be 50 years of age or older;
b. does not require a separate certification of group eligibility;
c. workers may participate in TAA- approved training;
d. requires full-time employment, unless the worker is also enrolled in TAA-approved training and employed at least 20 hours per week, and does not set a deadline for reemployment;
e. available only for workers earning less than $55,000 per year in reemployment;
f. maximum benefit of $12,000 over a period of up to two years.
