Refugee Authorized Admissions Law and Legal Definition
The maximum or ceiling number of refugees allowed to enter the United States in a given fiscal year is known as refugee authorized admissions. As set forth in the Refugee Act of 1980 (Public Law 96-212) the President determines the annual figure after consultations with Congress. President Barack Obama has signed Presidential Determination No. 2009-32 authorizing the admission of up to 80,000 refugees in fiscal year 2010.
