Refugee Medical Assistance [RMA] Law and Legal Definition
Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) is a federally funded program that provides up to eight months of health care coverage to certain non citizens who are considered refugees under the Immigration and Naturalization Act. It is a program of temporary medical assistance for those who are not eligible for Medicaid.
In providing refugee medical assistance to refugees, a State must provide services same to one under the State's Medicaid program.
