Regional bank is a bank that operates in one region of a country. Primary business of a regional bank is making loans to customers in a regional or metropolitan area and taking deposits within the state where it is chartered. A regional bank has a broader market focus than a community bank, but smaller than a money center bank. A money center bank operates nationally and internationally.
