Removals from Inventory [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 74.4 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 74 -- Material Control and Accounting of Special Nuclear Material; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term removals from inventory means “measured quantities of special nuclear material contained in:
(1) Shipments;
(2) Waste materials transferred to an onsite holding account via a DOE/NRC Form 741 transaction;
(3) Measured discards transported offsite; and
(4) Effluents released to the environment.”
