Representation Petition Law and Legal Definition
Representation petition is a board designated form filed by a labor organization requesting that the board hold an election to determine whether a majority of employees in an appropriate bargaining unit desire the labor organization as their exclusive bargaining representative. The representation petition must be supported by a showing of interest that at least 30% of the employees in the petition for bargaining unit wish to be represented by the labor organization.
