Request for Access [Patents] Law and Legal Definition
According to 37 CFR 102.22 (7) [Title 37 -- Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights; Chapter I -- United States Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce; Subchapter B – Administration; Part 102 -- Disclosure of Government Information; Subpart B -- Privacy Act], the term request for access means “a request by an individual or an individual's parent or guardian to see a record which is in a particular system of records and which pertains to that individual.”
