Request for Evidence (Immigration) Law and Legal Definition
The Request for Evidence (RFE) is a written and detailed request made by the USCIS to a visa applicant to provide additional documentation in order to establish and/or support visa eligibility. RFE and petition processing is a volatile area in the U.S. Immigration Law. Also, changes occur almost every year. In such cases, the applicant or petitioner is usually given no more than 12 weeks to respond to a request for evidence.
