Request for Permission to Modify a Motion Law and Legal Definition
Request for permission to modify a motion refers to a motion which helps the mover or maker of the motion to seek an amendment or change to his/her own motion after it has been stated by the chair. This is also termed as request for leave to modify a motion. The mover has a control over the motion only until the chair states the question. After that, the motion belongs to the assembly and the mover will not be able to modify it without obtaining permission from the assembly.
