Resettlement Support Center [RSC] Law and Legal Definition
The Resettlement Support Center (RSC) is an entity funded by the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the Department of State to prepare the paperwork on refugee cases before the refugees are interviewed by officials from the Department of Homeland Security's United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The RSC functions include:
a. helping the refugee to complete processing by requesting a sponsorship assurance from a resettlement agency in the U.S.;
b. scheduling the refugee for a medical examination;
c. ensuring a security name check has been done; and
d. arranging travel through the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
