Residential extended care service refers to services provided by halfway houses, recovery homes, and sanctuaries by assessing and treating patients close to their home communities in order to support a patient's recovery in a sober environment and to facilitate a productive return to family, employment, and community. It provides clinical services to adults and adolescents in a 24-hour structured and supervised recovery setting. The services provided under residential extended care service include individual, group, and family therapy, medication management, and medication education.
