Responsible DOT Official Law and Legal Definition
According to 49 CFR 7.2 (Title 49 – Transportation; Subtitle A - Office Of The Secretary Of Transportation; Part 7 - Public Availability Of Information; Subpart A - General Provisions), Responsible DOT official means “the head of the DOT component concerned, or the General Counsel or the Inspector General, as the case may be, or the designee of any of them, authorized to take an action under this part.”
