Retrofit [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 436.11 [Title 10 Energy; Chapter II Department of Energy; Subchapter D Energy Conservation; Part 436 Federal Energy Management and Planning Programs; Subpart A Methodology and Procedures for Life Cycle Cost Analyses], the term retrofit means “installation of a building energy system or building water system alternative in an existing Federal building.”
