Revised Statutes of the United States Law and Legal Definition
The revised statutes of the United States refers to the legal title of a body of the U.S. statutes that have been revised, collected, arranged in order, and reenacted as a whole. It is the collection of compiled laws of the U.S., as well as some of the individual states. The revised statutes of the U.S. was the first official codification of the Acts of Congress.
