Take [Wildlife Law] Law and Legal Definition
The term ’take’ as used in the context of wildlife and conservation laws means to engage in any conduct that may harm, kill, or destroy wildlife. It may also include significant habitat modification or degradation that would kill or degrade wildlife organisms by impairing essential behavioral patterns including breeding, feeding, or sheltering. Pursuant to16 USCS § 1532, the term ‘take’ means to harass, harm, pursue, hunt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, capture, or collect, or to attempt to engage in any such conduct.
