Tamper-Safing [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 74.4 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 74 -- Material Control and Accounting of Special Nuclear Material; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term tamper-safing means “the use of devices on containers or vaults in a manner and at a time that ensures a clear indication of any violation of the integrity of previously made measurements of special nuclear material within the container or vault.”
