The Beginning of the War Law and Legal Definition
According to 50 USCS Appx § 2 [Title 50. War and National Defense; Title 50 Appendix War and National Defense; Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917; Act Oct. 6, 1917, Ch 106, 40 Stat. 411], the words "the beginning of the war" shall be deemed to mean midnight ending the day on which Congress has declared, or shall declare war or the existence of a state of war.
