The U.S. Fire Administration Law and Legal Definition
The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) is an entity of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency. The objective of the USFA is to significantly reduce the nation’s loss of life from fire, while also achieving a reduction in property loss and non-fatal injury due to fire. It provides national leadership to foster a solid foundation for fire and emergency services stakeholders in prevention, preparedness, and response. The USFA includes the National Fire Academy (NFA) and is currently housed within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
