Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act [TVPRA] Law and Legal Definition
Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005 is an Act that amended current anti-trafficking laws, re-appropriated millions of dollars in funds for previously existing projects, and added greatly needed social service programs for human trafficking victims.
The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) enacted in 2000 was aimed at combating trafficking in persons, whose victims are predominantly women and children, to ensure punishment of traffickers and to protect its victims. The TVPRA enhances the U.S. ability to combat trafficking in persons by extending and improving prosecutorial and diplomatic tools, and also adds new protections for victims.
