Two-Family Dwelling Law and Legal Definition
Two-family dwelling means a multifamily dwelling designed to house two families. For example, a duplex is a two family dwelling.
In Joseph E. Palmer, Inc. v. Easttown Township Board of Adjustment, 1963 Pa. Dist. & Cnty. Dec. LEXIS 323 (Pa. C.P. 1963), the court observed that a “"two-family dwelling" is defined as a building designed for and occupied exclusively as a home or residence for two families, Easttown Township, Pa. Zoning Ordinance § 100-6 (1939).”
