Type III Investment Security Law and Legal Definition
According to 12 CFR 1.2 [Title 12 Banks and Banking; Chapter I Comptroller Of the Currency, Department of the Treasury; Part 1 Investment Securities] Type III security means “an investment security that does not qualify as a Type I, II, IV, or V security. Examples of Type III securities include corporate bonds and municipal bonds that do not satisfy the definition of Type I securities pursuant to paragraph (j) of § 1.2 or the definition of Type II securities pursuant to paragraph (k) of § 1.2.”
