Vulnerability Analysis [National Security] Law and Legal Definition
Vulnerability analysis refers to an organized examination of an information system or product to find out whether the potential vulnerabilities discovered during the rating of a product could allow the aggressors to violate the security functional requirements. It also helps to determine the adequacy of security measures, the deficiency of security measure, the effectiveness of proposed security measures, and the adequacy of security measures after implementation. Generally, a vulnerability analysis tool is used by the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. However, currently it is used by enterprises that want to either make sense of their reams of vulnerability data or trace an actual data breach.
